چکیده

The molecular events underlying the lactation curve of dairy animals have long been a biological conundrum for mammary biologists, and cause considerable loss income farmers. To better understand regulatory mechanisms developmental processes gland during cycle, whole-genome transcriptome profiles bovine tissues at five different stages were investigated using RNA-Seq technique. differentially expressed genes identified by comparing stage combinations. Gene expression changes validated quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction. Some found to locate in known trait loci regions that are associated with multiple milk production traits. Proteins potentially important confirmed be epithelium cows. An integrated analysis differential gene indicated internal development regularities shape curve. First, is enriched similar activities onset involution, but opposite directions. Second, before after peak shared mainly involved extracellular matrix remodelling. discoveries study provide information necessary improve production.

Old and New Stories: Revelations from Functional Analysis of the Bovine Mammary Transcriptome during the Lactation Cycle

The cow mammary transcriptome was explored at -30, -15, 1, 15, 30, 60, 120, 240, and 300 d relative to parturition. A total of 6,382 differentially expressed genes (DEG) at a false discovery rate ≤ 0.001 were found throughout lactation. The greatest number of DEG (>3,500 DEG) was observed at 60 and 120 d vs. -30 d with the largest change between consecutive time points observed at -15 vs. 1 d a...

Comparative transcriptome and metabolome provides new insights into the regulatory mechanisms of accelerated senescence in litchi fruit after cold storage

Litchi is a non-climacteric subtropical fruit of high commercial value. The shelf life of litchi fruit under ambient conditions (AC) is approximately 4-6 days. Post-harvest cold storage prolongs the life of litchi fruit for up to 30 days with few changes in pericarp browning and total soluble solids. However, the shelf life of litchi fruits at ambient temperatures after pre-cold storage (PCS) i...

Gene Networks Driving Bovine Mammary Protein Synthesis During the Lactation Cycle

A crucial role for both insulin and mTOR in the regulation of milk protein synthesis is emerging. Bovine mammary biopsies harvested during late-pregnancy through end of subsequent lactation were used to evaluate via quantitative PCR the expression of 44 genes involved in pathways of insulin, mTOR, AMPK, and Jak2-Stat5 signalling and also glucose and amino acid (AA) transporters. We observed an ...

Bovine Mammary Gene Expression Profiling during the Onset of Lactation

BACKGROUND Lactogenesis includes two stages. Stage I begins a few weeks before parturition. Stage II is initiated around the time of parturition and extends for several days afterwards. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS To better understand the molecular events underlying these changes, genome-wide gene expression profiling was conducted using digital gene expression (DGE) on bovine mammary tiss...

Elephant Transcriptome Provides Insights into the Evolution of Eutherian Placentation

The chorioallantoic placenta connects mother and fetus in eutherian pregnancies. In order to understand the evolution of the placenta and provide further understanding of placenta biology, we sequenced the transcriptome of a term placenta of an African elephant (Loxodonta africana) and compared these data with RNA sequence and microarray data from other eutherian placentas including human, mous...
